Caleb Davis.
Caleb is an amazing man of God. He led my DTS last summer, and in that led a lot of people, myself included, into a deeper relationship with the Lord.
Caleb is definitely an anointed leader. He is able to use his relationship with God and His calling to bless and encourage those around Him to seek after the same thing. One of the qualities that makes Caleb a good leader is his genuine love for people. He so clearly has a heart to know the Lord, and that shows in how he loves people like Jesus loves them. It is such an amazing gift to have to be able to lead a group of thirteen students and a hand full of leaders, and still be able to have a real personal relationship with each of them; and that's exactly what Caleb did. Leadership stems from relationship; and a Godly leader stems from their relationship with the Lord and with other people. Caleb's ability to put the Lord first, and then in return serve and love people is what makes him an incredible man of God and leader. I am so incredibly blessed to have Caleb in my life!
Here is a little look into Caleb's heart for the Lord, and what God is doing in and through it!
Interviewee:
Caleb Davis; age 23. Currently in: Fort Wayne, Indiana.
How did you come to know the Lord?
I grew up in a christian family and have been in church my whole life. When I really met the lord was the summer before DTS. I was working in YWAM Idaho and I just came out of a crazy season of life of trying to find my purpose but looking in all the wrong places. I was met by God with the power of redemption and the promise of faithfulness that He had on my entire life, that I was just now seeing in a new light. And that's when I decided to truly yield my life to the Lord, little by little. I just wanted him to be the one to steer my vehicle, the one that was directing my footsteps. Its been a pilgrimage ever since.
What was the turning point at which you realized the Lord's love for you?
The summer I did circuit riders- Circuit Riders hosts events for college age students. They gather those who already have a relationship with the Lord and train them on how to follow Jesus simply, and then how to share who He is and how much he loves anyone we come in contact with in our lives. It was where I really felt the Lord's loving presence, and even though I had been following God and making mistakes, I didn't have to try and hide them from him because He was walking with me hand in hand. That's when I knew that I could trust Him and that he had my best interests, even though I thought I had been following him by myself.
Explain the feeling you get when you fully worship?
Peace and adoration. When I worship I want to just clear my whole being out, out of adoration for who He really is. I'm able to have a heart of adoration, and then peace comes over me and I'm able to see Him for who He is.
What is the Lord doing in Fort Wayne, Indiana?
Well He's doing something in my work, all of the guys have been opening up and asking me a whole lot of questions. I'm able to just share my faith and who God is in a real tangible way to them. They just talk to me about who God is and how messed up the world is. They're calling out for hope, and I'm just able to share that it's Jesus that they need.
What is the Lord doing in your own life?
He is definitely solidifying who I am to Him and the purpose that He has for my life, and He's giving me a detailed way to walk it out. A lot of it is just in my own quiet time. I have tons of time at work to think and pray and talk to him.
What makes your heart come alive?
Mine is seeing people's dreams come alive and seeing them walk them out. Watching all the (DTS) students follow after the Lord and seek out His plan for them was enough for me.
