Last Wednesday we began working with one of our set ministries here in New York; the Relief Bus! This is an organization based out of New York and is a Christian non-profit that serves the homeless in providing them hot meals, clothes, aid in finding jobs and whatever else their needs may be, and lots of prayer! The part that we are playing in this is every Wednesday going to the Bronx (one of their locations) and serving with them on the bus! We, along with other amazing volunteers, get to serve hot soup and bread out of the bus, pray for people in the prayer station and simply listen and love on whoever comes over! It is such an incredible ministry because it's not pressured or trying to hide Jesus' name; it seeks to share and show the love of Jesus by doing what He did- love, get low and serve. One cool testimony from last week's trip to the Bronx was meeting a Dominican woman and her young daughter and getting to spend time with them. She told me about her life coming from the Dominican Republic and growing up in the Bronx, about her other kids and her hopes to get connected to a local church. After hanging out with her for a while, I got the chance to pray for healing for the arthritis in her body and bless her. It was so good just to get to hear her talk and connect with someone that I otherwise would have never met. Jesus is so amazing in the way that He brings so many people together! My team and I are very excited to continue going back to serve every Wednesday and serving and making friends.
