Morgan Pohlad.
A woman after God's own heart. I had the privilege of seeing her be totally transformed by the love of God and re-dedicate her life to the Lord last year. Since then she has been running full speed after Jesus, and anyone that has had the chance to share that with her has been truly blessed. She trusts in the Lord and knows what true faith is, and what difference it makes: “faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1). Seeing her faith and trust in the Lord's love for her and for everyone around her has given the love of the Lord so much room to spread. She carries the Presence of God, and she recently carried it all the way to New Zealand!
A heart for missions is only the first step in seeing the Lord's name spread to all nations; you have to also be willing to give up everything, and have an open and willing heart that seeks to resemble that of Jesus Christ. Morgan has both of these. She has a heart to go into the nations and spread the love of Jesus, but more importantly she has a heart that resembles that of our God. That is what makes a radical servant. That is what the Lord uses to change the world. I am so excited to get to do life with this amazing person, and am blessed to be able to be encouraged by her daily.
Here is a testimonial from Morgan; of what the Lord is doing in her own life and in her home town: Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Interviewee:
Morgan Pohlad; age 21. Hometown: Grand Rapids, Michigan.
How long have you known the Lord?
I've been a believer for my whole life, but re-dedicated my life to the Lord seven months ago.
What was the turning point at which you realized the Lord's love for you?
I just began to realize that He was real. That the Spirit was real. I just started realizing that my life with Him would be better than living with my own control. I had never known who the Holy Spirit was until YWAM. After seeing healing and miracles, I realized what living by the Spirit and could be like. One particular time I was in the prayer room and I had been imagining myself as raindrops going up to Heaven, and this lady came up to me and gave me a word; which I never had before. Before she left she told me that God had caught every rain drop, (and I had never told anyone that). That was the first time I had an encounter with the Holy Spirit and knew it was Him.
Explain the feeling or emotion you get when you fully worship?
Total peace. Just in such close contact with the Lord, like I don't want it to end.
What is the Lord doing in Grand Rapids, Michigan?
The Lord is working here. Grand Rapids is known for being very 'religious', with a lot of lukewarm Christianity. There's a church on every corner but not many people that desire more than the weekly Sunday service. I've been holding a weekly bible study with girls who are focused on deepening their relationship with the Lord, and its been going really well. I've also worked with the homeless downtown with some of my friends. Basically we've just gone downtown and been giving them hot chocolate and food, and have been praying for and experiencing healing and salvation from the Lord!
What is the Lord doing in your own life?
He's definitely convicting me of not spending enough time with Him. Really, (He's) just calling me away from home to do more mission work just by opening up doors and having things fall into place for me to leave and go back to Kona.
What makes your heart come alive?
Seeing children run hard after God and seeing young adults in their twenties follow the Lord with passion and full faith and trust in Him.
“Following the Lord is fun and by just saying 'yes' you're opened up to a whole new life. Living with an eternal perspective is the best thing you can do for yourself.”
